Ultrasound and biopsy done today

Hi, I found a lump in my Breast which wasn’t there before and was referred to the breast clinic. Following examination and ultrasound, they needed to do a biopsy on the lump. The doctor said it’s likely Fibroadenomas, and not to worry. Do they always say this until you get results? Do they usually do biopsy if they’re that confident it’s fibroadenoma?

  • Hi Sr3999 and welcome to Cancer Chat.

Hopefully this information about the standard procedure for a breast clinic appointment will help to put your mind at ease about the tests you had done but our cancer nurses will be around next week if you'd like to have a quick chat with them about this as well. They'll be available from Tuesday onwards on 0808 800 4040, between 9a.m - 5p.m.

This topic is frequently discussed on the forum so I'm sure some of our members will be along soon to share their advice and experiences with you.

    Kind regards,
