Lump and breast pain

Hi,

I have been experiencing breast pain for a couple of months. As I'm menopausal after a full hysterectomy, I asumed the pain was associated to that. Also found a lump at the same time. The lump hasn't changed, hard and firm. Visited the GP who has made an urgent referral to the breast clinic. I have attended the breast clinic in the past (10 & 5 years ago) as non urgent referrals, both lumps were cysts.

Now, this time I am really worried! I know I should wait until the tests but it is so hard. I think the GP is being thorough which is great but she was also quite alarming at the same time.

Thanks for listening

Kris

  • Hi Kris

Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry to hear about the health problems you've had over the past few months. It does sound as if your GP is being thorough  which is great and hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your appointment.

I had a little look through the forum and I thought it might be helpful for you to post on this this thread where you'll be able to chat with [@Babs17]‍ and [@pj1985]‍ . Both these lovely ladies are a little ahead of you with appointments and check ups but in the words of that once infamous TV ad - it's good to talk! Hopefully you will all be able to offer each other some support and reassurance.

Do keep in touch Kris and let us know how you get on. Remember that you're welcome to post here whenever you feel the need.

    Best wishes,

  • Yep! Totally just playing the waiting game with my husband over here :) I have an appointment on the 25th at the breast clinic , fingers crossed We’re dealing with something we can handle! Xx

  • Hi,

    Thank you for your replies.

Pj1985, how did you get on at the clinic on Thursday? Hoping all went well.

I'm still waiting on my appointment, apparently there is a backlog!

The waiting and having patience is definitely not a strong virtue of mine
