Colonoscopy

Hi everyone. Just looking for some support. I have no one to talk to about my anxieties. Only my mum who is 84and I don’t want to burden her. I had my colonoscopy a week last Wednesday. It will be 2 weeks this coming Wednesday. My report shows they have took 14 biopsies. I was in agony during the whole procedure. Still no results back. Called doctors yesterday as now I water a water infection which he said can happen. So I am on antibiotics and painkillers. I told him how many biopsies they had taken and he said that was an aweful lot and they would only take that many if they have found something suspicious. As you can imagine I’m out of my mind with worry

  • Hi sorry late reply. This might seem harsh but the more you wurry the worse you feel a lot of people on here are in the same boat. The only way forward is to try to relax and keep your self occupied i know it's not easy it never is find something that you like to do any friends or family nearby go out as I said it's not easy, best of luck with results.

  • Hi, I had a dreadful colonoscopy in July and they took 15 biopsies, like you I was Worried sick. When I asked why they took so many it was because they wanted to biopsy as much of the colon as possible to rule out any cancer as I had already been diagnosed with lymphoma. Fortunately the biopsies were all ok, but it’s the wait that was torture.good luck with your results and hope it’s not too long a wait.
