Hello Everyone
I am just looking for some advice as i am freaking out a bit, 4 years ago i deveopled a very rare parathyroid tumour, only other tumour like it was operated on in Canada, thankfully is wasn't cancerous, then i developed a mass in my submandibular gland, that was removed 3 years ago and they still arent sure what is was through lab tests, that was also benign thankfully.
Over the last few week my partoid gland has been swelling and going back down, got a constant pressure/ fullness feeling there and it has been giving me an ear ach and a pain around that side of my face and temple area, my GP refered me back to ENT and also ordered an ultrasound to be done while waiting for the referal appointment, i went for the ultrasound on friday, he seemed to be concentrating a lot on the area thats playing up, and then decided to take some xrays, he then said that the gland duct looked clear and not to mucky but that the lymph node inside was very inflamed and he wasn't happy with it,and that he wanted to take biopsies there and then, when i asked if it would be possible to have them done another day he advised that it couldnt wait and he reccomended it be done there and then, so he took 2 seperate biopsies from the node, and preformed a Sialograph and more xrays, after these tests were done and he had looked over the images he pointed out that the gland was probably intermittently swelling to to saliva build up and that my GP would be told and the ENT consultant wouldn't be interested in that but will most definatly be interested in the results of the biopsy, and that he would contact him asap to let him know i had been seen and to make him aware of biopsies taken, and to prepare myself for more tests, to be honest he has actually worried me with the rush of tests and mentioning the risks of the radiation of 12 xrays i had done would outweigh the consequences of the biopsies.
Am i right to be a little freaked out right now
