Our nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 - Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm so don't hesitate to give them a ring if you wanted to talk things through with them. 

Given that you have been feeling lightheaded and very cold following your surgery and experiencing numbness over your back, I would recommend you speak to a doctor about this as soon as you can just to make sure that everything is ok. If you want to talk to someone over the weekend, you can ring 111 and explain your symptoms to them over the phone and see what they suggest. I hope you manage to see a doctor soon and that you feel better by now. 

I've had a little look around the forum for others who have had a hemi thyroidectomy before and found for example this thread by [@Hoof1]‍ where you will also read [@SophieN]‍ 's experience. I hope you will get talking soon here to others who have been through this before. 

I hope you get your pathology results soon and I wish you a speedy and full recovery.

Hi Leah,

Sorry only seeing this now. I'm no doctor but just because u only had half removed doesn't mean ur immune to calcium deficiency. After my hemi-thyroidectomy my blood calcium results being ok were my ticket home. I got them checked 3 months after op and now keep a check every 6 months on thyroid function and calcium.

How u getting on since?
