1cm lump to left lower inner breast

Hi,

yesterday i found a hard 1cm lump to the lower inner left breast! I’ve been to the doctors today and have been referred to the breast clinic on the 2 week wait! He said the positive is that it’s slightly movable and smooth to touch! Although it is painless and I’ve read that if it’s a cyst it’s usually painful!

Anyway ive obviously convinced myself of the worst case scenario... I have a 2 year old little boy so all my emotions are everywhere! Any experiences similar to mine would be welcomed as im going out of my mind here! Just preying for the best, I’m only 27 and really didn’t expect to find something like this so young!

thank you in advance!

  • Hi lovely! My lump turned out not to be cancer! Im

horrendously anxious too! I cried myself to sleep every night whilst I was waiting! My lump turned out to be a benign rumour and I had it removed... I've since had 2 more, 1 was removed and one is currently being tested as we speak however they're not concerned, they think im just one of these unlucky people that keep getting breast lumps! 9/10 lumps (especially moveable ones) are completely fine, your age is on your side too! Try to take your mind off the wait by doing something every day and not googling!

    xx

  • Ah thanks so much so reassuring I really hope it's nothing serious but I will have to just wait and see it's so hard not to think about xx

  • Thanks so much makes me feel abit better it's just so hard not to think about it but I suppose I have to just wait and see but will let you no what happens thanks again xx

  • The worse thing u can do is google it and upset ur self. I was a mess and everyone told me not to worry. I cried all the time but thank god it was nothing. I do it now, google stuff and I always think the worse. Honestly take it from someone who is the worse person in these situations, I'm sure it's fine, keep us informed tho plz. Chin up babe x

  • This thread has really helped me so thank you all! Im 28 yrs old and found a small lump below my nipple 10 weeks ago. The ultrasound confirmed it was not a cyst but a solid lump, the nurses and surgeon were unable to identify it, I cant help but feel they were all being sketchy about it and definitely not ruling out the worse case scenario, maybe as a student nurse you pick up on these things.

Going to be the longest week of my life waiting for my biopsy result, not sure if they will call or send a letter? Is one is better than the other? Any further advice or support would be great, thank you ladies x

  • Hi lovely!

ive had 3 solid benign lumps since I started this thread! Each time the doctors wouldn't give me any information until after the results from the lab came in - I don't think they're allowed to say anything until they know 100% what is it! I had 2 of mine removed and 1 has been left in due to me being pregnant, but they say they are quite safe to be left alone - my lumps are called Hamartomas! I know the pain of the wait so send you lots of love ️

  • Like Kirsty, I am 3 dodgy lumps later and all not cancer. None of mine have been removed so i have lumpy breasts!

Anyway, when i had my biopsy (with first lump) I had an appointment a week later back at the clinic to get my results. This was pre-covid times though so not sure how it works now.

Please stay positive. It's so easy to think the worst but there is nothing to suggest this. Be sure to come back and update us. Big hugsx

  • Hey hunny,

I could've written this myself. Yesterday I found a lump in my left inner breast. It's hard, large and doesn't move. I went to my GP who explained because it's large he would be referring me to the breast cancer clinic. I am only 29, currently 8 weeks pregnant and have 3 children at home. So my anxiety is through the roof. My sadness is in my gut and I feel like I can't breath through crying. I hope everything turns out to be fine for both of us. I was given a two week waiting letter but he said it's more likely going to be 6 weeks with covid. I can't imagine feeling this way for 6 weeks. Xxx

  • Oh sweetheart this sounds awful to have potentially 6 weeks to wait! My first one was very large and only moved slightly but was very defined and round which was apparently a good sign! They removed that one because it was so big it was causing me pain wearing bras etc! 1 of the characteristics of a hamartoma is that it grows really quick which all 3 of mine have (pretty much out of no where they appear) and I've been told that hormones also have a part to play in them so maybe as you're pregnant yours could be the same! I still have one in my right inner breast now and it's large but I can't feel it anymore due to pregnancy boobs being the size of my head! I'm hoping to have it removed once the pregnancy is over! X

  • Hello,

Thank you for sharing this thread. I have found a similar 1cm lump which is painful but appeared out of nowhere. It's the 2nd one I've found in the past 8months. I'm only 27 so I'm hoping it's a fatty deposit same as yours were. This thread really helped me feel a bit more calm while I wait for my scan in clinic.

How do they remove them if you don't mind me asking?

    Thank you for sharing!
