1cm lump to left lower inner breast

Hi,

yesterday i found a hard 1cm lump to the lower inner left breast! I’ve been to the doctors today and have been referred to the breast clinic on the 2 week wait! He said the positive is that it’s slightly movable and smooth to touch! Although it is painless and I’ve read that if it’s a cyst it’s usually painful!

Anyway ive obviously convinced myself of the worst case scenario... I have a 2 year old little boy so all my emotions are everywhere! Any experiences similar to mine would be welcomed as im going out of my mind here! Just preying for the best, I’m only 27 and really didn’t expect to find something like this so young!

thank you in advance!

  • Well that’s fantastic news!

Did they give you an information leaflet on Fibroadenoma?

I had my appointment yesterday as well. They didn’t do  another biopsy as the consultant said it wasn’t needed. My lump is benign,it’s fibrous but they’re not sure what it is....so I have been booked in for a lumpectomy on 5th June. Once it’s sent off to pathlab and the results come back, they’ll be able to tell me what it is.

    I imagine you’re very relived!

Have a lovely weekend and keep us updated.

    Marie xxxx

  • Yes they gave me a leaflet so hoping it’s that and I can move on. They said I got pain due to where it is as it’s literally right under my boob so my bra was rubbing it. I just so relieved and defo will b celebrating, thanks guys for ur support and glad u all ok. Xx

  • Oh that’s amazing, my biopsy is on Tuesday but they said they were 99% sure it wouldn’t be cancerous so just really hoping they’re right!xx

  • Me too. It’s such a scary time but I’d rather have a biopsy than cancer any day, but by god it hurts day after. I’m so sore so listen to what they tell u n rest x

  • Hello ladies, I'm new to this site and finding myself in the same predicament as you all. I'm driving myself mad with the wait from the breast clinic. How did you all get off. Hope it was good news all round x

  • Hay hunni, step bk, take a deep breath. Honestly I made myself into a mess worrying. I went to clinic, they knew what it was but coz of my age took a biopsy which killed but worth it. And everything is fine. Honestly don't worry until u have something to worry about. Everyone said that to me and I know it's hard but I wish I'd of listene. The clinic is fab too. Hope ur ok xx

  • Dear Kirsty. How are you doing now. I just got back from the GP. Same. One cm lump lower right side of right breast. Two week waiting for scan. I think my defense mechanism is to switch off and assume it's an infection in the lymp nodes.

Please do tell me what became of your scan.

I'm a single mum of two teens. They are totally dependent on me so ...

Do tell me if your experience

  • Hi ladies,

iv just been reading through your posts.

I found a lump well over a year ago and went to the docs, i saw a advanced nurse practtioner rather than a dr and she said it was just lumpy breast tissue. i wasnt convinced but went with it.

since then everytime i was in the shower i could so clearly feel a small pea sized lump in amongst the lumpy tissue of my lower right breast. i kept telling myself it fine. it was constantly there niggling at the back of my mind.

recently 2 people who i knew of passed away with cancer (not breast cancer) but it just made me think right i dont care if the docs think im being a pain in the *** i want a second opionin to put my mind at ease!

i made appt , dr saw me and felt the little lump as well as lumpy tissue... her comment were i dont think its anything to worry about but due to your age (im 42) ill refer you to breast clinic which was a massive relief!! thats all i wanted ..just peace of mind!

    got appt through really quickly:)

had mammogram....you hear lots of stories about how uncomfortabe they are, even older ladies in waiting room were telling me how youre man handled...joy! As it was it wasnt that bad at all...bit uncomfortable as my breast was tender anyway but absolutrly fine! for anyone worrying about that , please dont worry.

Then had the ultrasound which discovered it was a solid lump of 13mm ,if its fluid they know its a cyst, solid then a biopsy needed , to see is a fibro lump or cancerous.

Im not going to lie i was absolutly pooing myself when they said theyd have to do biopsy..im a complete wuss and i dont do needles..!!

having said that it was absolutely fine...the nurses were incredible they were just chatting to me about anything and everything to keep me distracted. they numb you with local anathetic which was a just a little scratch.. after that there was no pain, yes u could feel pressure and and were definetly aware there was work being done but no pain! wahoo!! even after, yes i felt a lttle tender but nowhere near as bad as i thought.

i get the results next week! im generally a postive person so im feeling that as its been there for a long time its more likely to be a fibrodema lump.

    ill keep you posted.

  • Hi I'm 28 years old and very worried I have found a lump in my left breast  at the side it's moveable I have had it checked by the doctors and they have said it feels like normal breast tissue I don't have it in my right breast and now been referred to breast clinic I'm just so worried it's cancer I have been having upper back pain for well over a year now and rib pain have chests X-ray and cbc count all come back normal so just waiting for my appointment I suffer with high anxiety as it is and this is just making it worse I'm thinking the worst but the doctor did say that some people have naturally lumpy breast tissue

  • Hi hun, last year I found a lump and I was so scared. I went to my appointment and literally told me it wasn’t cancer but they did a biopsy anyway. 2 week later results came back and it was just fatty tissue. I know it’s hard, god it was the worse 6 weeks of my life to start to finish and I was getting pains especially in my underarm but all was fine. Just b positive hunni x
