Worried it could be skin Cancer

Hi all, I am really worried that I might have skin Cancer. I’ve had these marks on my skin and they have changed colour and size over time. Seen Doctor today and she really worried me by referring me to a skin Specialist Urgent appointment. I know I shouldn’t google but I did and it just seems to be all about moles, mine marks aren’t moles. Any advice would very much be appreciated.

    Hi Angie78,

    Any skin lesion, mole, spot or lump that is new or has changed size, shape, colour etc should be checked out. Your GP will refer you to a skin specialist (dermatologist) if they can't make a definitive diagnosis or aren't sure - remember that GP's are in general practice & don't specialise in all skin problems. 

    Don't use Dr Google - it will only worry you - it's not always correct & is usually out of date. 

    The dermatologist will look at the marks, probably through a type of microscope called a dermascope. If they think there is a problem they will arrange for the marks to be surgically removed for biopsy. Hopefully they will be fine so please try not to stress too much.
