swollen nodes in throat for past year

Hi there,

i have noticed that just under my jaw line on the right side of my throat i still have a swollen gland. after noticing it a year ago it just came to my attention again. it doesnt hurt and im not experiencing any discomfort but i am worried that as it hasnt gone away it might be something serious am i right ?? 

ive read up about how stress can affect your nodes and to be honest I've been through a really tough break up around 3 years ago and i still get heart ache. it made me deppressed and act completely out of character, and i still do. This rough patch has affected me so much in my life and im wondering if this may be the cause of my swollen nodes.

please could someone help put me at ease or at least offer an explination !?

    Thank you for posting.  I see from your post that you are worried about these swollen nodes.  The best thing to do is to go and see your doctor about these.  When you are worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to look for answers on an online forum, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better.  And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor.  I was also sorry to hear about your difficult break up - if you feel you are having trouble getting over it and that this has caused you major stress, do mention it to your doctor. As well as giving you advice on whether he/she thinks the swollen nodes are a reaction to what you went through 3 years ago, your doctor will be able to point you in the right direction so that you can get help to deal with this emotional trauma and move forward in your life.
