CIN3

Hi all

I'm new to this forum. Last July I was pregnant but it turned into a Molar Pregnancy (I had surgery to remove the pre-cancerous cells and luckily none remained to turn cancerous so I was cleared for in February). The week after these results however, I had a routine smear test which showed severe dyskaryosis. I went in for a colposcopy 5 weeks ago but the consultant said she didn't think it looked as severe as suggested so she wasn't happy to do a procedure, and instead took a biopsy. I have just had the results for this and it's CIN3, so as initially thought. There are currently no dates available and the nurse said that it'll be at least another 4-6 week wait for the second colposcopy to remove the cells. The waiting is proving a bit much for my mental state! I'm also 36 so feel like my chances of having a baby are slipping away.

I also have just been told I have low kidney function and am awaiting further testing in 4-6 weeks to see if I'll need an ultrasound and therefore what treatment might be needed. I guess the constant uncertainty since July is reaching it's limit. It would've also been my due date on Saturday so perhaps I'm not processing the news all that sensibly...

I'm not sure what I'm asking for - just a sounding board really. It's just all becoming rather overwhelming!!

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat monkeyandme

You are welcome to offload on the forum as much as you want and I hope you won't have to wait too long now for your second colposcopy. I can imagine it is very difficult for you mentally at the moment and I am so sorry to hear about the molar pregnancy. I hope you can get it all sorted very soon.

Good luck as well with the further testing you are undergoing as a result of the low kidney function. Hopefully it won't be too long now until you get more clarity on all this.

    Best wishes,
