Colonoscopy without sedation

Had a colonoscopy this morning without sedation or gas/air. It was a breeze. I didn’t feel a thing. Thankfully came back with a ‘clean bill of health’ needless to say-made me feel good. The actual procedure took only about 15 minutes. By far the worst experience was drinking the laxative and it’s effect. I wouldn’t hesitate having the procedure again

  • Hi same as you no trouble. Funny thing I was given a laxative it was in a small plastic bottle about 40mm round about 60mm LG with a 60mm nozzle all ready filled. You lay on side insert squeeze you then have 3 minutes to get to the toilet or its to late (you do this at home) I had over an hour drive to hospital then waiting room I was still clear when I went in (good stuff) trouble is I can't remember what it was called..

  • Sounds as though you got the better stuff than me. Had to drink 1 litre of liquid laxative over two hour period - twice. Not pleasant. Couldn’t eat anything once laxative was taken - and that was at 3pm yesterday. What with all the liquid I didn’t feel like food at all. I think that the thought of the procedure is far worth than the procedure itself.

  • Hi I said it worked yes trouble was as soon as you finished the bottle you felt like you wanted to go. the bottle said don't go for three minutes it took some doing your body is pushing your trying not its not cumfortable(I know it's spelt wrong). Good luck.
