High ca125

hey,

so back in August 2018 I went to my doctor over a change in my menstrual cyle, I had bloating, bleeding pain in my ovaries as well as odd periods. So the doc ordered me a blood test and a ca125 test. He told me to ring the Monday for results. I rang the Monday and the receptionist said all was fine. Thought nothingnof it and carried on. No doctors contacted me on the tests  

We decided we wanted to further our family and plan a pregnancy knowing everything was okay. Well fast forward to April 2019 at my 16 week midwife appointment the midwife noticed my ca125 back in August was actually a high marker and needed a follow up excluding an ultrasound which I never received. 

 

Its been 8 months and I’m now 4 months pregnant. I’m scared, I’m confused and now worried for the future.  I’ve been missed all this time on a test which should have been done 8 months ago. Now the doctors are asking for advice due to my pregnancy. Just wondering what can or would happen and all the what ifs?

    Hello Jordilove, 

    First of all congratulations on your pregnancy though I can imagine that all this stress has prevented you from enjoying it as much as you could. How unfortunate that it was only noticed recently that your CA125 blood test results were actually high markers. I am sure the doctors will find out very soon from specialists what the best course of action is due to your pregnancy.

    Heya,

    just wondering how things went for you?

    im finding myself in a similar situation. Unexpected pregnancy which I had a early private scan this week to find a large cyst and ca125 levels increased more that expected for in pregnancy. Only 7 weeks pregnant.
