I'm worried I have bowel cancer

Hi,

About 2 years ago I started with rectal bleeding and passing mucus. I was.only passing a stool once a week if that. My Dr said it was ibs-c, I kept going back and eventually he sent me for a colonoscopy. My results where clear but had sign of piles.

I have been like this on and off ever since. A couple of months ago I started again but lots of blood and mucus and suffering with constipation. Again my GP said ibs-c. Had blood tests for other ibd all came back clear. I changed GP's cos I felt like I wasn't getting anywhere. This GP tested me for ibs and this came back clear. I am passing mucus with blood and what is like brown water. So know I am petrified I have bowel cancer.

They gave me Laxido to take and told me to use anusol, which I have been doing for nearly 2 weeks. I have been taking one Laxido at night, symptoms didn't improve until today. I have been running toilet and passing soft stools but still blood and fluid. Is this normal?

I am waiting to go back to hospital for but I'm.on a waiting list and said it could be 3 months. I can't go on worring like this.

  • Hello Mymuchkin,

Thank you for posting.  I can appreciate that it must be worrying for you if you don’t feel that your problems are being diagnosed properly.  Unfortunately, we cannot help you get a diagnosis.  Only a doctor can diagnose you.  If you are unhappy with the way you are being looked after by your current doctor and feel you need to talk to someone before you get your hospital appointment, you may want to consider getting yet another opinion and you can find out more about this here

I hope you find the reassurance you need soon.

    Best wishes,
