Worried, any advice?

so I saw my gp last week regarding a large (5cm) lump at the back of my leg. I had assumed it was a cyst and wasn’t really worrying about it however when I went to my appointment she said it defo isn’t a cyst and will refer me to a specialist. Since then I had a phone call last Friday to arrange an appointment to be seen by the haematology department. That appointment was made for this Thursday. Today I received a call from their receptionist and she said my consultant has asked her to ring as he wants to see me tomorrow at 4.30 instead and he now has my blood results she said had some crosses on a few things. Now my mind is going into overdrive.

please tell me honestly this doesn’t look too great does it. Why else would he move my appointment forward now he has my results....

    Hi Tasha4eva,

The change in your appointment may be for a simple reason, so please don' overthink this and scare yourself more. Your consultant will have a number of people to fit in to his appointment slots and his receptionist may have overbooked or double booked your Thursday appointment. It could also mean something as simple as your consultant wanting to go away for a long weekend.

Just try to be glad that you have less time to wait to be seen, as this is always a worrying time waiting for results.

I sincerely hope that nothing untoward is found tomorrow.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
