ovarian cancer?

Hi

I have been having  really bad stomach cramps and bloating  past 4 months as well as loss of appetite , on januray the pain  had gotten so severe i had to go to the a&e, the doctor did a urine test  and said i came out postive for being pregnant which was false as i know i wasnt!! they said i had a uti and gave me a cocodomol and antibiotics, i feel as thought i did not have that and the junior doctor seemed very unsure at the time.  I then saw my gp and was sent for some blood tests, the doctor said i had high  inflammation somewhere in the body? i also had  an abdomen ultrsasound  scan which was  all fine but during the  pelvis scan  they found a cyst on my left ovary, i have recenly had the CA125 blood test and it came back as 70, the docor has  sent an urgent refferal for me to  see the gynecologist, i am really worried now as im only 25 and i dont know whats excaclty wrong with me, i was told i do not have endometriosis,  does the blood test indicate that its definitely cancer? what should i expect at my gyno app and what will happen after?  im not looking forward for all of this :(

  • Your referral to the Gynaecologist should be an appointment within 2 weeks. Get back with GP if it doesnt arrive, mine did ok. I am same as you and attending tomorrow I will let you know what happens.

  • Good luck for your next appointment. I had an internal scan that found a 10cm cyst wrapped around my ovary, I had to have an operation to remove the cyst and unfortunately lost the ovary and it wasn’t cancerous. I was diagnosed with pcos so may be worth looking into that. I will add though that if you were to loose the ovary try not to worry about your fertility. I have since gone on to have a child with just the one remaining ovary xx

  • I attended this morning and saw a Gynaecologist. She checked my ultrasound results and I have a lump the size of a 10p behind my womb. Next step is a MRI scan. I didn't get to ask all the questions I wanted to so make a list for when you attend? Your blood test result may be something else other than cancer and you should ask for a telephone GP call to explain this better to you.

I hope your appointment comes through soon, back to your GP if it doesn't ok.

Good luck I am thinking of you, please keep posting how you are. xx

  • Hi

Thank you for the reply! I am anxiously waiting for the day to come,  I did ask my doctor at the time but he said the gynaecologist will  find out much more? So he  doesn't know anything yet. Do let me know how your mri scan goes x

  • Hi

Thank you!  I am really curious to find out what is causing this.

Ooh I'm really sorry to hear about your ovary surgery but it's good that you  managed have a child now, I'm not really worried about not being able to conceive if I ever do lose it.

I did speak to my doctor about endometriosis and pcos but they ruled that out, apparently I don't have some of the symptoms..
