Recently went for a ultrasound scan and results showed enlarged left ovary. Had test ca125 and it has come back normal have been referred to gynaecologist still worried likehood of ovarian cancer as my mum died of cancer linked to her ovaries
I think it is very reassuring that your CA125 test came back normal. It is really sad that your mum died of ovarian cancer and I am so sorry for your loss. However don't anticipate that the same is happening to you. You will find out more very soon when you see the gynaecologist.
Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine and that you soon find out the cause for this enlarged ovary.
I was wondering if anyone could help me or advise me but I've recently been having pain in the left side of my back radiating into my left hip and pelvis and groin. I had an USS pelvis done which did not show a clear view of my ovaries. The pain had got worse so I went to A&e and they did a CT scan of my abdomen which showed my left ovary was enlarged at 4cm.
The Gnae Registrar saw me and advised I need to wait for three menstrual cycles as it could all be hormonal. But my symptoms aren't settling. I feel bloated , tired and pain is still there. Something doesn't seem right. CA125 and AFP were normal.
Can you advise what I should do ? I am 36 years old
