Solid, painful, immobile lump on breast plate

Hi, I am so worried. I am almost 29 and a Mum of 4. I have been to the doctors today as I have been having pains in my chest for a couple of weeks and a few days ago I noticed a solid, painful to the touch lump (marble like) attached to my breast plate (in between my cleavage on the right hand side).

The doctor seemed concerned and said it felt bone like and that she was sending me for an urgent referall (within the 2 week wait).

Has anyone else experienced this? I also have aching between my shoulder blades, left shoulder and arm (could be completely unrelated?)

I was seen in A&E a couple of weeks ago due to chest pain and they ran blood tests which they said all came back clear..if it was anything to be concerned about, would anything have shown up on the regular bloods?

Sorry for all the questions, I am panicking.

Thanks,

Hayley

  • Hi there,

I’m unable to comment on your symptoms, however I know how you’re feeling with the waiting . It really is a worrying time! What I have learned is to keep occupied-it’s easier said than done some days but it really does help. do you have any hobbies or interests? maybe watch a film? Even cleaning helped-I could give Mrs Hinch a good run for her money the past couple of weeks!

This site and forum is also a fantastic place to come-everyone here is so kind and helpful, the people here are lovely and have got me through the past couple of weeks. I’m so grateful to them and I’m sure you’ll feel the same as well. :-)

Also-don’t go on google! Please! I didn’t listen to that advice and have worked myself up a treat becuause of it. Google isn’t a doctor, neither are we and you will panic yourself unnecessarily. If you do feel down or stressed or just want a chat, feel feee to drop me a message. I will help all I can.

    take care

  • Hi Marie,

Thank you so much for your reply, I really appreciate it.

I have a lot going on with work and the children at the moment, so plenty to keep my mind busy. I find cleaning helps too, it keeps me motivated and a clean home=a clean mind for me!

The doctor said I should receive a phone call in the next couple of days to confirm an appointment but there was confusion as to who they were referring me to, either the breast clinic or chest clinic, due to the area the mass is in.

I really hope your appointment comes round quickly for you, it’s the not knowing that is horrible isn’t it?

Wishing you well and sending positive thoughts to you too. Please feel free to drop me a message if you ever want to chat.
