Breast cancer biopsy. Need a second one...feeling anxious.

I had a routine mammogram and was called for a second mammogram on Monday 25th March, it showed a small area of suspicious microcalcifications and so I had a fine needle biopsy.

They called yesterday with the results and I was told it was inconclusive although they do suspect there are cancerous cells and so I have to go back next week for a vacuum assisted biopsy. They said they will test the lymph nodes in my armpit too, this now has me terrified as I cannot feel any lumps and did not expect things to seem so bad.

On top of this, today the breast I had the biopsy in is feeling achy and is a little swollen, is this common after a biopsy? I did have to stay in the mammogram machine for about 30 minutes whilst they did the biopsy due to the small area of microcalcifications. I think the ache and slight swelling is causing me to fear things are much worse but just wondering if anybody has had similar experiences.

Your chats do help me to stay calm, but today I did begin to feel so anxious and cried for the first time.

Hope to hear from somebody
