Lump on armpit for 3 years, please advice

Hi everyone!!

im super stressed and need some advice. I’m 23 and I’ve had this lump on my armpit for at least 3 years. I’ve gone to the doctor every year just to make sure it is ok, they’ve always said it’s most likely a cyst or lymph node.. one doctor even said they couldn’t do anything about it unless it hurt. It has got bigger over the years but it has never hurt. So I decided I wanted to get a scan and know 100% know what it is then go from there. Today I was sent to the breast surgery.. my doctor did say I’d probably have to get it done there because that’s procedure for lumps and bumps in this area

anyways, I had the scan and the lady couldn’t make out what it was after a good 5 minutes trying. So they have taken a sample and have told me I’ll have to come back next week for the results.

Should i I be worried? I know there’s no point in stressing until I get my results but should I be concerned that they couldn’t tell what it was by looking at it through the scan?

  • Hi Bronten,

I thought I'd stop by and stay hello. As you say, geting stressed before your results can be counterproductive but I understand it's hard not to worry. There are some tips here that might help you take your mind off things. One positive is that all your past results have been clear and it's great that you've been keeping an eye on the lump over the years.

Hopefully you don't have to wait long,
