In some cases, your doctor may only need a sample of the abnormal cells to carry out the test. Don't worry too much and I hope you receive your results soon.

It's good she indicated it might not be cancer, but only your doctor can diagnose you and you won't know for sure until you get the resullts. If you feel a bit anxious there are some tips here, which can help with the wait.

I am so sorry to hear about the worries you've had since your biopsy. It is normal to have to return for the results of a biopsy before any treatment is carried out. Did the doctor give you any idea of how long you might have to wait before you get your results?

This is always an anxious time, so I hope that they come back soon and that they don't show up anything untoward.

Hi Paisley,

It is hard to go through this at any age, but particularly at only 22. Sadly, cancer is no respector of age, creed or colour.

Most of us would agree that this is one of the hardest times of the cancer journey. Waiting for the results of tests is always a scary time and time almost seems to stand still whilst we're waiting.

I am glad to hear that you went back to your doctor again when you still had your pain. We know our own bodies best and, sometimes we have to assert ourselves to get the investigations that we need.

I sincerely hope that there is a simpler explanation when you return for your results.
