  • Hi,

I am not a medical professional but I can talk of my own experience. I had an ovarian complex cyst in 2016 which was picked up accidentally in a mri scan. I then had to have an ultrasound and ca125 done. I was 29. My ca125 came back elevated at 43, so I freaked out. I had the cyst removed, but it was not ovarian cancer. Fast forward 3 years and I have just found out I have another complex cyst, had transvaginal/pelvic ultrasound and My ca125 is 11. Been referred urgently to gynae.

Hopefully its nothing sinister. Ca125 from what I understand is not an accurate marker on its own, and can be raised for a number of reasons. Which is why further imaging is usually requested. Hope that helps and try not to worry yourself, the added stress doesn’t help,  trust me
