Cervical biopsy results abnormal

Hi I have just received my cervical biopsy results after 5 weeks of waiting. The letter says that my result was abnormal but did not give any facts or findings. One the same day I got an appointment letter to make an appointment back at colposcopy clinic. So I’m just panicking that the consultant wants me in again to give me bad news. I also have hpv 16 and 18, he said it’s not common to have both togeather. So that’s weighing on my mind also. I’m back in to consultant on the 9th of April, which is just so far away. Surely they wouldn’t leave you waiting that long if it was serious? Also the date on the consultants letter was the 3 rd of March and I only received it on the 22nd. Any information on how biopsy results usually be detailed in a results letter?

    Hi. I'm currently in the same position you were in. How did your appointment go with the consultant? I had biopsies sent for severe abnormalities CIN 3 but like you my letter gave no details. I'm due in the this Friday after 7 weeks of waiting from the biopsies were taken. The waiting has been horrendous. I wasn't told of I was tested for hpv. I hope all went well for you x

    Hi, I just wondered how you got on, I'm in a similar position, letter saying borderline changes, colposcopy doctor saying cin3 currently 4 weeks into waiting for biopsy results, driving me mad not knowing, how did you get on?

    Hi I got called back in and had the abnormal cells burned off. And waited 8 weeks for the results which came back all normal just last week,and no signs of HPV. To say I was relieved was an understatement. Try not to worry, I had thought the worst and all is good. Hope all goes well for you!

    Thank you for your reply, everyone seems to have had treatment on the same day as the colposcopy, but I didn't they are waiting for biopsy results to tell me what treatment but he seemed very sure about cin3, which concerns me, I hope I don't have to wait to much longer, glad all went well with you, I bet it was a massive relief x

    They told me they wouldn't do treatment at time of biopsy just to wait to results of biopsy came so they would know exactly what the best treatment was. Even though he thought it looked  like cin3  he couldn't tell for certain till biopsy results that's why they call you back in.It is the waiting that's hard because you drive yourself crazy.iI know exactly how you feel and Hope all goes good for you and you don't have to wait much longer.

    Not heard of that one.  I had biopsies first and they came back as CIN3.  Just had the Lletz treatment today and the nurse was very thorough so I'm hoping I won't have to go back.  Just waiting again now for the Lletz results. So nervous all this waiting is so draining and stressful. Have you only had biopsies done at the colposcopy or have you had treatment yet?

    Yes this is the result from my biopsy  . I have been discharged. Epithelial changes of Uncertain Significance (ECUS). I have no clue I have checked everywhere .
