Hi, I went to my GP on Thursday after putting it off for months out of fear. My symptoms are, a hard irregular lump, nipple discharge, pain, a small rash, changes to the appearance of my nipple (it’s not inverted but it’s flattened). I know I have a few possible symptoms that could be breast cancer. But I thought maybe naively she would reassure me there was nothing to worry about it and maybe refer me to a breast clinic as a precaution.
Her response really kinda freaked me out. I was wondering if her reaction is a normal or should I be worried that I have breast cancer?
she basically said it’s not a cyst, she was really concerned about what she felt and she was referring me as an urgent referral. She also went on to say they would support me through treatment and if I needed counselling that would be available to me. She said I’d probably get my appointment within about 1-2 weeks.
so my question is. Was she being overly cautious so I’d be prepared for the worst but it might not be or is it the worst.
i kinda felt like I was being measured up for my coffin!
