Ovarian cysts and fibroids

Hi all,

I don't know if this is the right place to post about this but I'm hoping for some advice and I feel like I'm running out of options.

Basically I have had problems with cysts for the past 9 years since I got pregnant. I've had operations for cysts that have got to large and for cysts that have ruptured and caused internal bleeding. I have gone through certain periods through that 9 years when I haven't had a problem. However, I had a cyst removal about 6 months ago because it had got to big and was sitting behind my cervix which was causing bleeding and pain, I thought this operation would ease the pain and it did for a few months. But now I'm just in agony most days to the point I'm on the floor curled up in a ball to try and ease the pain. I went back to the GP and had a scan which confirmed another large cyst on my ovary and fibroids in my womb, the fibroids are a new thing never had them before as far as I know. The radiographer said she will put it back to the GP and get me referred again to gynaecology but it just seems like a circle going round and round. I know I probably sound really inpatient but I just can't stand being in anymore pain. I'm on pain relief but it last for about an hour if that I spoke to the gp about a different pain relief but I just feel like I'm driving them insane now and wasting their time. It's affected my job, my relationship etc... I honestly don't know what to do.

If anyone can give me any advice I would really appreciate.

Thanks in advance

  • Hello Nat_89,

I can imagine you feel like you are going around in circles at the moment but hopefully it won't be too long now before you see a specialist again. It does sound though like your pain is pretty intense at the moment, and because it is affecting your quality of life so much it might be worth seeing someone soon and going back to your GP. If you feel your doctor isn't taking your concerns seriously, you could consider getting a second opinion. You can find out how to do this here.

I hope this helps and that you feel better soon.

    Best wishes,
