Hi! 

I felt a lump in my breast on Tuesday, went to the doctors on Thursday and she referred me to the clinic. She said it could just be a cyst as I have no family with breast cancer but just thinking about the what ifs is making me so upset. Trying to keep positive, but it’s so hard not to just break down in front of everyone. I’m 26 years old :(.

Sorry to hear your going through this too. I found a lump in my breast last Friday and been referred to the Breast Clinic. It's such a scary time. My heads all over the place and it's exhausting! I'm trying to stay positive but then what if's suddenly appear and I'm all emotional. I'm sure my mind is playing tricks on me too - I was convinced the other day it had grown so much it was getting in the way of my arm while I was driving! The not knowing is horrible.

As you can see,you’re not alone. There are several of us here in a similar situation to yourself. I got referred to my breast clinic last Thursday and have an appointment next Thursday. I’ll happily admit I’ve driven myself stir crazy with worry! There’s no point in me telling you not to worry because you will...however this group is amazing,the ladies and gents on here have been fantastic at easing my worries and I’m sure you will feel that as well. You have done the right thing coming here.

What I’ve learnt the past week since being on this group is to take one day at a a time,don’t worry about tomorrow until tomorrow comes. Try and distract yourself if you can,it’s easier said than done but it really does help,even if it’s just cleaning the  house haha. Also - don’t go on google! It has a bad habit of making us panic even more! We are not doctors and neither is google.

Agree with this comment so much this forum is so helpful it made me feel a lot less alone in my thoughts & it’s completely natural to worry!

I’ve learnt a lot on this forum about what to expect in my upcoming appointment which has really put my mind at ease too! The lovely ladies are so helpful. 

Unfortunately none of us can be sure what’s going on till our appointments but you’ve done the right thing getting it seen to & being referred & the odds are on our side with most lumps being benign
