Worried sick

Hi there

I’m new to this site. I found a lump in my right breast and rang my doctor last Thursday morning. I can’t fault them and I was seen as an emergency within an hour. He checked my breasts said he “thinks” the lump is a cyst and has referred me to the breast clinic to be on the safe side.

I’m absolutely worried sick! They have confirmed that they have my referral and will write to me with my appointment.

Can someone tell me what happens in the breast clinic please. I know I’m having a mammogram but not sure what else.

  • I remember coming across them when I was researching what my lump could be, before I was diagnosed. I think they're another form of benign tumour but I'm not sure how they differ from fibroadenomas. I wonder why they're thinking of removing it?! xx

  • So today I saw my consultant ......

I have a lumpectomy booked for 5th June.

I went into the appointment armed with my notepad and questions,he only answered those relating to my op,not on the lump as we won’t know for certain until it’s removed what it is. So all I really know is that it’s benign and it’s more than likely fibrous but as yet we don’t have a name for it....

i shall keep everyone updated xxxx
