25 worried about cervical cancer?

Hello everyone,

Firstly just want to say you ladies are so strong and sending you lots of love and best wishes for your recovery journey.

This is my story so far. I had my second baby boy in August in Dubai and moved to Ireland shortly after. Something didn't go quite right out there because I just kept having infections, uterine lining ones, lots of problems. I was also late to take notice as I was just busy with two small kids under 3 and moving to Ireland when I'm from the UK. When I finally went to the GP they gave me antibiotics and it cleared.

1-2 months later the problems that persist today began. So every couple of days I'd get discharge it was mostly brown but could be watery brown/red tinged. Sometimes it was just watery but never really experienced anything like that. I'd have cramps with it and some nausea. Then it would go for days and I'd forget then it would pop up again. Sex was unbearable, too painful although I didn't bleed after just discharge the next day. This went on for a few months. I recently went back to my gp and she ran tests for UTI - clear. Tests for infection - clear. Yet said my cervix was inflamed and red. Around the time I went to my gp it was because the pain became more severe, discharge more frequent, abdominal cramps etc. She sent for a smear when I had but she said it would take 4 months due to a backlog.

This past week, the pain is getting bad and I feel even some pain in my back and at times legs (only happened once for few hours). The most concerning is the abdominal cramps and nausea. I lose my appetite then but wouldn't say I've lost my appetite on the whole. When the nausea is gone my eating is fine. Discharge is there. I also find that my urine is kind of hot if that makes sense, wouldn't say painful just hot so I  was suprised the UTI test was clear. Some days like this morning woke up feeling fine and was like great maybe it's gone, then from about 6pm just in a ton of pain and discharge plus nausea. Am I wrong to worry about cervical cancer? I dare say anything to anyone close to me but symptoms keep leading me down this worrying road..any advice would be hugely appreciated xxx

  • Hello LanaAD,

I can appreciate that it must be a worrying time for you if you don’t feel that your problems are being diagnosed properly.  Unfortunately, we cannot help you get a diagnosis.  Only a doctor can diagnose you and given that you have experienced additional and intensified symptoms in the last week,  you may want to consider getting another opinion. You can find out more about this here

I hope you find the reassurance you need

    Best wishes,
