Tonsil cancer scare can someone please give me their opinion

Hi guys 

 

I'm 25 year old female who has been extremely I'll since November. 

 

In November I started getting night sweats. Ignored it because I was having nightmares. Then in December I started getting rashes and sore throat which has persisted and is still here now. 

 

I have one tonsil that is very enlarged  my throat is blood red and the other tonsil is also sore. I have had weeks of antibiotics nothing is working.  What is really concerning is the rashes I am getting. They are like heat rashes I'm getting extremely warm and breaking out in a rash on my chest stomach and upper arms. 

 

My doctors are a bit slow and didn't refer me to ent until recently. And ireland system is disgraceful and my so called urgent appointment is in may. 

There is no lumps in my neck and my lymph nodes aren't swollen. 

 

Does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi Chantell

    am sorry to hear of your symptoms and understand why you have some anxiety.

    None of us here are medically qualified to offer any diagnosis really but I've been through throat issues and have a thread and blog on here and along with others on thread, cant remember anyone mentioning night sweats connected with any throat issue, nor any cramp or rash, but again we cant diagnose on here or predict anything.

    As for ENT referral thats a good thing as they should hopefully get to the bottom of and remember most referrals to ENT come back with nothing realy sinister wrong at all. Could be many things that you describe in area and viral/tonsilitus maybe at back of.

    I wish you well for your ENT appt and hope all goes well and postive to put your mind at rest.
    Please stay off google as so much mis inforamtion and let us know how you get on and also feel free to come back and ask any further questions at all.

    I’m in the same boat although I also have a swollen lymph node in my neck that’s been the for 7 months! I’ve been to the doctors 40 times in 18 months with sore throats, night sweats, tiredness, weigh loss and only now with this lump on my neck have they referred me to an ent and that’s not until 25 April!!! I have lost 1 stone and 6 pounds in 2 months no change to diet and the doctors just tell me- your young (30) it is rare to be serious for someone your age!! Hope you have more quicker success than me! And prey we both have a good outcome
