Hi I've had bleeding in-between periods, 3 weeks ago started with a constant lower back ache, constipation. Obviously I was worried so I went to my doctor's who put me forward to have an ultrasound and an internal check up on my cervix with another doctor. I went for my internal this evening and the doctor isn't happy with the way things are looking down below and has put me for a rapid referral at the hospital for a colposcopy to rule out cervical cancer. Obviously with the symptoms I've had and with the doctors concerns I'm now worrying about cervical cancer. My ultrasound is a week on Friday and I'm waiting to hear back about my referral as to when my appointment will be. I am 28, has anyone else had this and it's turned out to be nothing? I'm so worried, I also have anxiety so that doesn't help with my worries. It would put my mind to rest hearing from other people that have been through a similar thing. Thank you

    im in the same boat, I have been bleeding in between periods, after sex, irregular periods, heavy wet watery discharge. Been going to my docs the last year who have constantly ignored me because I had a Pap smear 1 year and 3 months ago which was “normal” and so apparently nothing would be wrong! I argued about my symptoms and finally got sent to a gynaecologist who took one look in cervix and said- ok I can see a lesion a red patch. I’m scheduled for a colposcopy on the 4th of April. I was also diagnosed with hpv 9 years ago when my first abnormal smear was found. Since then they have been normal. 

    I hope yours turns out positive and mine also. It’s lonely and scary but I’m going through it aswell if that helps you at all.

    Thank you for replying. I'm sorry to hear that . It's so worrying isn't it, an yes they do ignore you if everything was okay with your smear don't they. What exactly is a colposcopy? It didn't get explained to me. I was adopted and have found out not long after I posted this that there has been a history of cervical cancer in the family due to speaking to my biological sister. I'm still waiting for the hospital to ring me even though my doctor did a "rapid" referal. I don't know wether I should ring them myself seeing as there's a history, try an speed things up abit. I really hope it all turns out okay for you. Yours sounds like the exact same symptoms I've been getting aswell. Everyone just says "don't worry about it, everything will be okay, your worrying over nothing" but you know your own body don't you, you know when somethings not right. How can we not worry, I've prepared myself for the worst. How long was you waiting to get your appointment for the colposcopy? X

    I have been going through the same thing! A growth was found on the neck of my womb and my womb is swollen. The bleeds are coming from the growth. I have a colposcopy on Monday and i’m so worried that I’ll have an irregular bleed before then that might stop me from having the colposcopy and then get out on a waiting list for another one! How can they judge the timings right when you have irregular bleeds all the time! It’s such a scary process. I’m 26 and never thought I’d have to go through it. I really hope your appointment went well. How did it go for you? X
