Im terrified!

Now i have to wait 5 weeks till gyno. Seems like a long time and im in alot of pain and struggling :(

Any advice? And hugs i need hugs!!!

  • Hi there....

sending you loads of hugs ....xxx

  • Hey!

    Totally understand how you feel!

I had a baby 5 months ago, at my smear test they found a rather large polyp and referred me to gyno. I had no symptoms if this polyp whatsoever. Had gyno appt and they said need day surgery to have it removed, I am petrified even though just had a baby!

I had my period, which stopped for a day and now seemed to have returned but heavier bright red blood so wondering if this is the polyp.

How have you got on?? Xx

  • Hi ScottishLass

My best friend had a cervical polyp last year which was quite large, and like you she was really scared. She had day surgery to remove it, and was out in the evening. She had an issue with an infection afterwards so had to have antibiotics but other than that is fine now and has no further cervical problems. Polyps are typically benign, so although this is a scary time for you, it should all be sorted out quite simply. Good luck! x

  • Hi Minska!

Thank you so much for your reply! I know I should see it as a simple procedure especially after having a baby, I think it's more then going under anesthetic and if something went wrong that scares me thank you so much for taking the time to reply, am wanting to skip it all really and not even know it's happened lol xx

  • My friend’s biggest fear was going under the anaesthetic. She was crying when she went in, she was so scared. But she said one minute she was speaking and the next minute she was waking up in recovery! She was sore when she woke up but was immediately given pain relief and was well looked after.

I know it’s horrible thinking of having this, but try not to worry too much...concentrate on your new baby, and I’m sure that will provide plenty distraction! Oh, and myself and my friend are both Scottish-remember, we’re all strong women! x

  • Thank you lovely!

With a new baby, other home life stress and returning to work next month this is the last thing I need on my plate! Lol xx

  • Keep us posted with how you go. Hope you don’t have too long to wait for your surgery and you can get all this over with. You have a lot on your plate at the moment! xx

  • The secretary at the hospital just phoned me back there, I had called after having the bleeding start last night and how it was today. She has put me to ease quite alot and told me to step back from Google and forums lol! Apparently on her system my pre OP assessment is 8th August but I've not had any letters through yet. Heres hoping all will be well, I need to get my big girl knickers on!! Xx

  • Definitely keep away from google-that will scare the pants off you. Forums are good because they ae filled with people who have experiences which they can share to help others. I know I haven’t had a cervical polyp but I feel I know quite a bit from my friend’s experience and I have plenty experience of that area of the body! You’ll be fine. xx

  • Definitely! I agree with the forums it's good to get other experiences. I hope your friend is all good now too, and hope you are doing ok xx
