I think the best thing to do in your situation and to help you organize childcare for your baby would be to give the ENT department of your hospital a ring, and try and find out how long the appointments tend to be. You can also ask on the phone whether any imagining would be done on the day of the appointment or whether it will be on a different date. Do explain when you ring that you need to get organized with expressing as you are breastfeeding and need to sort out childcare. I am sure they will be very understanding of your situation and that they will do their best to advise you.
