waiting for biopsy results after hysteroscopy

hi i had an hysteroscopy  last week as I have been having pelvic pain  which sometimes feels like pressure pushing down then other times a throbbing.  anyway i started bleeding very heavy   that I was taken to hospital  i had an internal scan   which detected a fibroid and a polyp  they said i need a hysteroscopy  to investigate further when i had that done  after the consultant  said that my womb was smooth one side but very rough  the other he took a biopsy  and said that he can't say what it is until results but that they will be  checking for cancer i am going out my mind waiting.

  • I have tried   everything   I cant wait another week I am putting on a front to my kids pretending I'm ok   while in pain  and worrying cant concentrate at work  it's making me I'll with worry

  • Ask to speak with the clinical director and explain what’s happened. Usually another secretary would cover if the other is on annual leave .

  • I have been to my doctors today and she rang hospital while I was there and my biopsy  has come back   nothing to worry about something to do with endometrial glands which wouldn't cause pain been having.  so doc then sent me for   xray on lower back and pelvis and now have to wait for appointment for laparoscopy  but relieved

  • Brilliant news!! You must be so relieved

  • I am   I cried with relief.  i had been putting of my wedding plans as didn't know what results would be. still in pain   but at least now cancer of womb has been ruled out.     i hope your results are good news too x

  • I did something stupid last night and watched a YouTube video of a lovely lady who had uterine cancer . Well it was almost identical symptoms to me. Bloating, bleeding, pelvic pain and worse of all I was only telling my mum last week how unbelievably tired I have been . I am bloated right up again as we speak , I am going to prepare for the worse and anything other is good news. I told my husband I hadn’t been feeling right he’s a Dr and thinks I am a hypochondriac ( which I am ) but something is not quite right

  • I think people know their own bodies and know when something is not right.    you shouldn't watch stuff like that on YouTube though because there are so many things that have same symptoms. i feel bloated alot  in pain every day sometimes not to bad but it's there then other days  the pain is so intense  where i am curled up in a ball and the pain when at its worst is also in my lower back and my left leg in the groin area. i constantly feel tired    i used to be so active  now i can just about manage to carry a bag of shopping without it feels like its pulling my insides out.  i constantly need to pee and without being gross my bowel movements are   very  irregular can go days without  releasing my bowels. still now at least i know what it's not now have to eliminate all other things but it's a slow process  if i could afford to go private i would

  • Hi everyone, it is so relieving to hear your stories, I’m 19 years old and have recently had an endometrial polypectomy and hysteroscopy and biopsy as I was found to have a abnormally thick uterus lining and a polyp, I was also fitted with the coil. I was told by my doctor he is unsure whether the results will be benign, which is so scary. I’m only 19 and trying to complete uni assignments whilst worrying about my results. Is it normal to wait 3/4 weeks to hear of your results?

  • Hi Maisie. So sorry you are waiting for your results and trying to complete the end of your uni year at the same time. I had my procedure done almost 4 weeks ago and still no results back. I rang today and was told they are on the consultants table! So she will look at them tomorrow and hopefully I will hear by the end of week by letter. I'm thinking no news is good news so fingers crossed for both of us we get the news we want to hear. Take care. Joanne

  • Thankyou for replying, I rang also yesterday and they said they will try and send them out by the end of the week! So fingers crossed for the both of us!
