I'm litreally going through the same thing as well! Been told to use flucloxacillan for a week after being told I was going to put on the 2 week wait and now they're not going to do it till I've used the cream for a week!

I also have a red rash and a lump and a lump on my armpit, its honelsty so frustrating :( i hope it all goes well for you and turns out to be nothing serious!x

I notice that your problem seems very similar to the one above, so please forgive me if I just paste the same reply to you. Make sure that you see your GP as soon as the week is up, to get your referral to the breast clinic in hand as soon as possible.

I am so sorry to hear about the trouble with your breast. You should get an appointment through soon. It is usually within 2 weeks. I agree that the waiting time seems like forever. Try to keep yourself fully occupied with pleasanter pursuits which will help to distract you from the wait. Do you like theatre or cinema? These are good for evenings, as they keep you away from consulting 'Dr Google'. This is never a good idea, as many of the sites are poorly researched or out of date. You will only succeed in scaring yourself if you do this.

We all tend to think the worst at this stage, but fortunately, this seldom turns out to be the case. Do you have someone who you can confide in about this? You really need someone who you can talk to. It is also helpful to take someone with you to your appointments and to write down a list of any questions you have for your consultant.

I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 9 years, so I know what you are going through. Only 1 person in 10 who is referred to the Breast Clinic will turn out to have cancer.

I hope so, the waiting is the worst for me. I suffer from generalised anxiety so this has just made it sky rocket unfortunately :(. 

I have a lot of work on at the moment & overtime I took today off but I hope to go back tomorrow & hopefully the focus will take my mind off my issue.

I have family I can confide in which is good and good work mates and my best friend so I do have people to chat to.

I’m so sorry you have had to go through breast cancer twice. I hope you are well now?

I am glad to hear that you have friends and family who you can confide in. It is also good that you are so busy at work, as this should help to take your mind off the wait. Even if you didn't suffer from anxiety, this sort of situation is enough to make your anxiety skyrocket!

I had a close call the week before last when I had to go for 2 excisional biopsies for suspected melanomas. One was on my face and the other was on my leg. I heard on Monday that both are cancer free. I'm still walking around on cloud nine, as I find it so hard to believe. Otherwise, I'm fine thank you.

I did feel better last night after a chat & this morning mentally although I haven’t went into work again today as I feel generally unwell as I haven’t eaten properly & the ibuprofen I got from the doctors yesterday has upset my stomach trying to make sure I eat & drink better today to sort myself for going back tomorrow. 

So very true it would give anyone anxiety!

Sorry you had a scare again, that is amazing news they are cancer free no wonder you are on cloud 9 after everything you’ve been through you would have expected the worst, delighted for you!

Hi Natasha,

Poor you. This is one tablet that I cannot take. Ibuprofen can upset your stomach. Your GP can prescribe a tablet to line your stomach and protect it from other medication. Also make sure not to take Ibuprofen on an empty stomach.

Thank you I will ask about this tablet it sounds like it could help. 

Had a better day yesterday then I woke up today with arm pain & I can see a vein in my boob i’ve never noticed before so freaked out all over again unfortunately

I am sorry to hear that you are having pain in your arm today. I don't know whether or not your enlarged vein has any significance. Maybe someone else here can tell you more about that.

You might find it helpful to talk to one of the nurses on this site. They are available 9.00 - 5.00 Mon - Fri. Their number is 0808 800 4040 and it is free to phone. They may be able to put your mind to rest about your vein.

Did you manage to get back to work today? You may find that this will help to tke your mind off your breast for a few hours.
