Hi everyone

I am a little stressed to say the least . I had upper endoscopy and colonoscopy on Monday they said all normal just non ulcer dyspepsia, then they took 5 biopsies for analysis and I would get the results in quite a few weeks , I spoke to my boss who’s a surgeon he said it’s standard to take biopsies, is it really or are they testing for something else , has anyone else had the same issue

many thanks

  • Hello Kayla1004,

I hope you will meet others here who have had the same issue. We have some information on the endoscopy on this page and you can also find out more about the colonoscopy here. I hope this will help answer some of the questions you may have on these procedures.

It won't be too long now until you get your results so try not to worry too much if you can as to the reasons why they took these biopsies and while waiting for results, when time often seems to drag on, it is a good idea to focus your mind on something else if you can and keep busy.

If you wanted to talk things through with our nurses or had any question about the upper endoscopy or colonoscopy you've recently had, you can get in touch with them on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Keeping everything crossed for your results.

    Best wishes,
