Scared scared scared

Heya I posted recently about lumps in my left breast I had a ultrasound at breast clinic and they told me come back in 8 weeks wich Is tomorrow !!!! My left breast still feels more lumpy than my right + the lumps I have in breast !! I'm 24 with 2 boys and petrified and just keep thinking it's going to be bad news !! Not even sure why they asked me to come back in 8 weeks time eaither , feeling sick with worry !! Anyone in similar situation or had similar issues ??

  • Hi there,

Im so sorry you're feeling so stressed out. I would be too, it's not nice. Hopefully I can try to reassure you a little though.

In my twenties I had a scare like this, I found a lump, went for a scan, went to the breast clinic etc...it turned out to be a gland (we have lots in that area).

My daughter (19) had lots of problems with one of her breasts last year. She had lumps, discharge, redness, swelling, all sorts of awful symptoms. She ended up in hospital quite poorly and was referred to the breast clinic. She wasn't well but it was easily treated and wasn't cancer. Our bodies are so complicated and all sorts of things can happen in that area that aren't cancer related. The biggest worry is that it could be something sinister but there's every chance that it's something really simple. Its almost impossible not to worry but try to relax and breathe. Have a bubble bath, a warm drink, snuggle up and read a book. Anything to distract you. Big hugs and we will be thinking of you. Let us know how you get on. Xxxxxx

  • Hi there ...

I've had 4 call backs from mamorgrams over the years. . They said I had very lumpy breasts, so please don't over panic ..  remember 8.5 out of ten lumps are benign ... and even if it is .. there's lots of us breast lasses on here .. kicking cancers butt ...

So fingers crossed for you ... and I've been where you are now.. and it's really scary , no matter what anyone says .. but try to keep busy ... let us know how you go ...Chrissie x

  • Hi

please be reassured that you will be in good hands. If you do need a biopsy it really isn't too bad. I can remember being amazed when it was over and I hadn't felt anything like the terrible pain I was expecting. You will definitely feel better when you know what is going on.

Best wishes and a big hug.

  • Definitely. My dad recently had a biopsy taken from his lung. They did it by going down his throat. When they said what they were going to do I thought it sounded awful BUT dad said it was fine. He'd fallen asleep with the sedation and couldn't remember a thing. The thought it worse and you'll feel better knowing what the situation is. Best of luck, I hope it goes well for you. You really will be in safe hands. Xxxxxx
