I’m 43 years old, and I’ve been having gynae issues for two years on and off, where I’m bleeding most of the month. Last month I went back to the surgery (yet again), and saw a nurse practitioner instead of a GP, who referred me for an ultrasound scan. I had the scan last Wednesday, and the next day the GP phoned to tell me to come straight in for blood tests: CA125 and liver and kidney function. They also booked an appointment for me to see them on Thursday to get the results. I’m in pain (discomfort most of the time, but actual pain some of the time), some days I can’t eat more than a spoonful at a time without feeling nauseous and full (then I’ll have days where I’m absolutely fine and eat loads). I feel like there’s a dragging pressure in my lower pelvic area, especially when I am urinating, or after I have. Last night I woke in the night in pain, went to the bathroom, and was in so much pain afterwards I was shaking and had to wake my partner up to get me a hot water bottle. I don’t think I’m bloated, I can’t see or feel any swelling. I’m very anxious, especially since a very dear friend died last year of ovarian cancer, just a month after she was diagnosed.
