Biopsy results quickly, super worried

Hi I recently started IVF and had to stop due to observed thickening of the womb and a white mark during scanning. I was then contacted by my GP who was worried about the presentation on the scans. He was worried about endometrial cancer so I was sent for an appointment via the two week wait. I saw the consultant quickly who sent me for a hystroscopy under anaesthetic. They saw some polyps and took biopsies. On the discharge it said I would have an appointment in 6-8 weeks but after having the procedure on the Tuesday they called me on the Friday afternoon asking me to come in on the following Thursday to discuss the results. I am very nervous about this as they suggested that I would only be called in if there was something serious. What are your experiences of the speed of this process. Could it just be that they are fast as I was under the two week wait process. Thanks in advance .

  • Hi

Is anyone able to comment on my post? Should I be more worried my results are quick?

    Thanks

    Emma

  • Hi, sorry no one has replied to your question. I don’t really have an answer but all I can say is instead of 6/8 week wait you are going to know what’s going on a bit earlier. The waiting is the worst bit, I am still waiting on biopsy results, I know mine came back suspicious and doctor asked for further tests. Your head is probably thinking the worst, everyone does. You may well have been under the two week wait which in my mind is good, my urgent biopsy turned out to be a three week wait till I phoned and was told it has been sent for further investigation. I have an appointment at end of March so I will have to wait a few more weeks. I wish you all the very best and fingers crossed it’s a good result. X

  • Thanks for your reply and sorry you are having to wait more. As you say the wait is the worst. I go later today. If you are two week wait do they have to call you back quickly. What did they have to do to test your results more? Pleased I will be a bit clearer as of later today. I can hardly breath.

Thanks again for the reply and support. I wish you all the best for your further results.

    X

  • Hi

i can’t really offer any advice, however,  I sincerely hope that all goes well at your appointment today.

    Xx

  • Hi, good luck for today, let me know how it goes.  I don’t know what they do to my biopsy, they did take three from my neck. I will be asking that question when I see doctor. I did get a call yesterday to go for a gastroscopy, the nurse said doctor would like it done quickly. No idea why. Hopefully to rule out something else. Now I’m getting a bit worried.

    Good luck again x
