If i were you, I'd sit right there next to him and go into his world and look at those photos too and he may just open up to you ... l used to here my parents talk about "the war" and as I was young , I'd have dreamed we'd be in another war and cry in case they'd die like those stories they told ... l felt like that for years .. l was a scared little girl that never told any one in case they said I was silly ...

So maybe just reashore him if he does open up.. you may not be able to take the fear away .. but you can be his buddy ... x
