Hi there,
Following a vaginal ultrasound I have been told by my Dr (over the phone) I have irregular womb lining that is indicative of a gynaecological cancer. I've been referred to my local hospital gynecology department. I was so surprised that I didnt ask any questions. I've recieved my appointment through and it says I have an appointment with one of the gynaecological oncology team at 2.30. There is a patient information letter attached for the post menopausal bleeding clinc - I'm not post menopausal or even menopausal for that matter, hormone levels were checked, I'm guessing its standard letter sent that has information about tests. It mentions a vaginal ultrasound and hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy. I'm not sure what to expect for my 1st visit and was hoping someone could share their experience of their first visit and perhaps how long it took? I'm not sure if someone will discuss my previous ultrasound and ca125 results (I've had 2 ca125 tests and i do not know the results) with me properly or whether it will just be more tests?? I understand places and people are different but there is no phone number for me to ring on the hospital letter and being a weekend -I can't speak to my dr. Can anyone shed any light with their experience? Thanks in advance x
