Paraproteiemia

Hi I'm a 67 year old male with insulin diabetes, angina, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis and ulcerative colitis. I was referred for haematology consult  this week after paraproteinemia discovered in bloods taken by my rheumatologist, who told me I may have a blood cancer that needed looking at. Bloods also showed red blood cells only producing one protein instead of 2, also high  igM protein. My GPs also told me 6 weeks ago I have iron anemia with low ferritin levels. Other newer ( in last 6 months or so) symptoms include exhaustion, night sweats, very frequent urination, very bad constipation, increased fluid in ankles , increased bone and muscle pain.

I am very very anxious as this comes on top of a recent melanoma cancer scare that proved to be benign and another bowel cancer scare that proved to be an infection. I know you have to remain positive but find it very difficult.

what can I expect at haematogy consultation?

Worried.
