Hi, I have previously had many biopsies and have 2 Lletz procedures to remove abnormal cells. I’ve had CIN3 removed then follow up after that showed CIN1 which we chose to leave until my next check up. My last I had removed again as cin3 again. I have my smears usually every year due to previously having abnormal cells. I’ve not had a normal smear since I was 22 so 9years. They just like to check that no abnormal cells have returned or how quick they return and if they have they can keep an eye or remove before the possibility of developing further. But yes abnormal cells can return as mine do, but I really wouldn’t worry xx
