What happens at haemotology first appointment

Hi, I have been referred on a 2ww for haemotology due to numerous lymph nodes in various places, chest pain, night sweats, lethargic etc. I was just wandering if anyone knows what happens at these first appointment? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

That sounds awful, I'm sorry to hear that! I hope you're okay.

I was referred to Haematology last Thursday and seeing them next Tuesday. I've already had the ultra sound and the sonographer raised concerns which has led to this stage.

I'm trying to stay optimistic but the waiting leads to over thinking and worrying and it all feels so lonely without people who have been there themselves.

That's good news that you are being seen very quickly. Did they do the biopsy? The waiting is honestly the worst bit. Fingers crossed it's good news, keep in touch. Best wishes.x

Hi there, were you told to take someone with you on yr 1st appt? I got a phone call to say this.It scared me my appt is 28th sept 2021.

I was referred by GP on Wednesday, hospital text me next day to book an appointment and booked me in the next week and my appointment is next Thursday.
I've not spoken to anyone. I dunno how long my appointment will be, what will happen. If I can take anyone with me. Will they do tests there and then?
