New to the forum

Hello everyone. I was first diagnosed with bc in 2008. I decided against having reconstruction at the same time as the mastectomy, but had a change of heart in 2011 and opted for an implant. The process seemed to take forever, but I finally underwent my last procedure in August 2016.

Now, a recent mammogram has revealed calcification changes in my remaining breast, which need further investigation. I'm still waiting for the appointment letter to come through. Hopefully it's nothing, but I am so anxious and the waiting is stressing me out.

  • Hi there ...

It doesn't get easier the second time around .. maybe even more so ... but you did it once .. I'm hoping it's just calsification... l had 2 lumps under my masectomy scar .. had to go back to theartre ...they were just calsifications and nothing else .. so fingers crossed for you too ...

So hold on keep busy as possible ... do anything to keep your mind off it...l know easier said then done .. let us know how you go ...

  • Hi Chriss. Thank you for responding in such a lovely positive way. I just need to know one way or the other (you know?). It's the waiting that's stressing me out. Diane x
