Dr visit today

Basically ive suffered very heavy periods, they have now becime irregular with spotting in between. I am 41.

I had a tvs which showed endometrial lining at 20mm. I am very anemic and low blood pressure.

I am being referred to a gynecologist but I cant help worrying,  should I push for an urgent referral or maybe go to a private gynecologist?

  • Hello Perfectinsanity,

It's good you are having all these symptoms looked into and I hope you won't have to wait too long to see the gynaecologist. You could always perhaps seek a second opinion and ask whether they think your referral should be marked as urgent or whether you would benefit from seeing a private gyneacologist.

I hope everything turns out fine for you and that you can get to the bottom of all this very soon.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi there, I had all of these symptoms aged 36 years and was so anaemic I needed a blood transfusion, however that then set the ball rolling and I was referred for a hysterectomy.  I have never looked back and the lack of heavy periods meant that I was able to get well again.  I had endometriosis as well but obviously the operation meant this was removed.  If you do need this look at it as a positive outcome, I never felt less of a woman without a womb, I just looked and felt myself, as I was meant to be.  Good luck, try not to panic and I'm sure you'll soon have a treatment plan in place.  Kind regards, Carol
