Hi, you are obviously concerned about this procedure but I have had this done and came through it very well.  Despite staples across the scar which for me was hip bone to hip bone I was up and out of bed the next day, they want you to move about so you don't get blood clots.  Try and stand up as straight as you are able, hunching over makes it worse.  You will be given pain relief as required and of course it is a little painful, you've been cut and stitched.  I came home after a few days and you will need help as you're not really able to do much.  I was back to work after six weeks but it takes time to get fully better.  So not too bad an experience and you will feel better in the end.  I hope all goes well.  Carol
