HPV 16

I have been told I have HPV 16 in my cervix which has really worried me.

Would those who have had HPV 16 that has led to cancer in any area mind letting me know your symptoms as I’d like to know what to look out for?

Wishing you all well and sending love.

Thank you.

  • HPV is very common and the majority of women will have a strain of HPV at some point throughout their life. A follow up is merely precautionary to see if there are any abnormal cell changes. Try not to worry, it’s very normal. The cervical screening service is exceptional in the UK and it aims to pick these things up as early as possible. It is likely your smear would have picked up greater indications than just HPV if there was something to worry about.
