Almost 2 weeks ago i got a 2nd breast abscess in the same place (the last one was last October, it burst and i kept it clean and it healed), the dr prescribed antibiotics and asked me to come back for a breast exam today, its been very painful but i haven't felt unwell with a temperature etc. The doctor says my breast is still infected although healing and noticed 2 lumps under my armpit. Im 50 and probably menopausal, i have a coil so not quite sure, i haven't had a mammogram yet and the dr said to be safe she wanted to refer me to the breast clinic as an urgent referral.  I asked if i needed more antibiotics but she said no as it is healing now. It seems very unlikely to be breast cancer but of course i am worried and cant seem to find much information about the abscesses which are below my nipple and not in the areola region. Has anybody had a similar experience?
