Everything points to endometrial

Not very good at explaining symptoms l am in my post menstrual for over 20 years and started bleeding. I am on a 14 day pathway hospital appointment on Thursday. My head is full of what ifs so l have joined tonight to find something positive to hold on to. Thanks for being around.

  • Hi Cazmar, glad to hear you have a clinic appointment soon.

It's a shock to have a post menopausal bleed when you think all that department's done and dusted. I had a similar experience December 2017, saw my GP quite quickly and was referred to clinic on the 2 week system. My GP said 1 in 10 women with that kind of bleed prove to have endometrial cancer, which is why they follow up quickly. It does mean 9 out of 10 women do not have cancer, so remember that if you can.

It was lerter found I had an early stage endometrial cancer. which was sorted by a total hysterectomy mid February last year. I made a good recovery, no further treatment needed. While I'd rather have avoided the op, I consider myself lucky the way things turned out.

The best thing you can do is start practising relaxation techniques. Having tests is a worrying time, so try to take your mind off the results, and if possible take one step at a time.

    Very best wishes, gamechanger
