That's a really long wait, and deff not right .. your consultants secretary needs a complaint put in about her .. no mater how busy she is, she should have so much empathy to talk to patients waiting for results .. if no one complains she'll do the same to other vulnerable people .. a word in his ear or a letter of complaint to the oncology manager will help them to know she needs more training or another job .. sometimes they act like they are the doctor,  so you get your firm head on .. 

If you use a firm voice and have written down what you want to say .. she just sounds like a bully .. if you don't get a good response phone your G P surgery and tell them it's been 6 weeks, and it's making you feel stressed .. good luck ... let us know how it goes ... Chrissie xx

I feel better now that you too think the wait has been too long. I tried to phone today but I rang out. I have received an email from the ‘PALS’ team at the hospital as I emailed my concerns a few days ago. 

Their response was that it is a ‘difficult case’ that has been looked at by three pathologists before being sent to a specialist cancer hospital. 

It again said that they will contact me as soon as they have the results. I’ll just have to sit tight and wait...

Oh my ... I wonder what it can be ... my lump was sent to the U S A for testing ... so let's hope it's a good outcome ... keep in touch ... and got everything crossed ..

It's funny, I'd never heard of it befor, but have since... mine was a grade 3 yet no lymph node effected .. think they wanted to know why ... it came back low risk of spread ... so think l was really lucky, to put it mildly ... had my masectomy in July 2017 ... and still here doing o.k ...

No you’re not being a nuisance, she’s not doing her job properly and her attitude needs to be reported naming her and detailing what she said and when. If you are on speakerphone and have a witness even better.

Yes, she is there as a gatekeeper but she is meant to show compassion and understanding.

Got the phone call today. 

I do have papillary thyroid cancer or had it as the lump has been removed. I’ll be discusssed at a meeting next week to decide if I need more surgery etc. I’m feeling ok about it all. Xxx
