  • Hi Ellebear,

Well first of all Im glad you got checked with GP. Its such a shame you let your fear of dentist keep you from getting checked out.

It is also good that your GP referred you to your dentist as they are best placed to identify the many, many lumps and bumps and more in the oral mouth.

Your dentist,if he thinks a biopsy is required will refer you to your hospital maxilofacial clinic. They will then decide whether to do a biopsy or not.

Depending on type of referral this can take quite a few weeks. So now, I know waiting is the worst, but please stay off Dr Google as everyone on here will tell you that only causes great anxiety.

Your dentist will want to know about your general health. You should mention the mild fevers as you said they have been around a few months as has your mouth sore, that may indicate a root infection to him. Do you have any dental problems, decay, small breaks in ename,.worn fillings.

Good luck at dentist tomorrow, remember a checkup is only a look see. xx
